Wool Suiting

Plain cloth is the safer first buy. A pinstripe locks you into a formal register, and the wider the stripe the louder it reads. If you want pattern without committing to it, take a chalkstripe or a grey windowpane, both of which pass as plain from across a room.

Every listing on this page is a four yard cut. Four yards covers a kaftan and trouser or a senator set on most builds. A two piece suit with a waistcoat needs more, so order two cuts and say so, and we will pull both from the same roll.

Colour behaves differently under different light. Charcoal and navy photograph true almost anywhere. Mid greys can turn blue under a phone flash and a warm beige can read pink. Every colourway here was shot in daylight on the roll, with a hand in frame so you can judge the scale of the weave and the real tone.
